Eric Choo is a paint chemist who work in a leading coating company for more than 10 years. He was one of my student in last year Blogging Workshop. He came across our advertisement in The Sun, right after he attended the preview seminar, he signed up for the workshop. He was very hard working and talk lesser among the student. I remembered he called me out for a few follow up sessions immediate after the workshop.
This review was due long time ago and I manage to sit down and conduct a review. In fact this is the promise I gave to all my students who managed to make their first US dollar fast.
This site is about providing paint and coating formulation tips to all sort of coating, like architectural coating for residential, consumer electric such as handphone, notebook and etc. This blog also covered on what type of raw material should be use for different type of paints respectively. It is more specific to a paint formulator, according to Eric Choo.
His current main objective is to improve on the SERP (Search Engine Results Page) ranking as well as opening a new forum for coating enthusiasts. In addition, he is looking to setup a monthly newsletter for all his blog subscribers.
According to Eric’s reply, he managed to make his first dollar in a month time from this blog. A consider good start for newbies who know nothing about blogging.
My advise to him:
1. There are some many money advertisement banner in the blog, I suggest to take out those banners so that the blog look more focus in terms of contents direction.
2. Suggest to change the adsense background to gray color (code: #EEEEEE) so that it will blend well with the side bar color and look nicer.
3. Incorporate more picture in blog contents, so that it looks more interesting. Readers need more excitement reading contents, plain text will make the blog look boring.
4. Focus more on driving traffic to the blog, please use the method I mentioned during the workshop to drive traffic. One of the good way is to interact with other bloggers (in the same or similar topic)
5. Use Facebook to drive more traffic. Create a your profile and incorporate your blog RSS feed into the facebook in order to get exposure. Check out my profile on how do I publish blog contents into my Facebook page.
Overall the blog is on satisfactorily level, continue to work on driving traffic and building backlink. you should be able to improve from there.
