Today I read the local paper about the official launch of Tune Money Visa Debit Card. Seems like we have another option for PayPal withdrawal, haven’t we? So, I quickly check out the Tune Money’s website and find out the details about this cards.
Below information are what you can get from the new Visa Debit Card.

There is an annual fee of RM9.99 for the basic card, besides the fees for lost / replacement / damaged card as well as other charges: 
Like some other overseas debit cards, it is not free to perform the transactions, you got to pay RM0.10 – RM20.00 for different charges. 
If you keen to get this card, you can apply online with 2 conditions:
1. Must be above 18 years old
2. You must not come from high risk nature business such as casinos and junket operator.
Initial RM50.00 top-up is required when you apply for the card, you can to-up your card by using online or offline payment. Make sure your browsers are javascript enabled so that it won’t interrupt the registration process.
Just wondering are these 2 business allow to operate in Malaysia? 
It could be another option for According to Azlan aka Lankapo that this card work for PayPal local withdrawal. If Tune Money Debit Card works out able to help us to withdraw Paypal fund, indeed, it is another good news for us as SOHO who keen to know more options for us. Apparently I believe it is not ready for PayPal yet. According to the TuneMoney.com, the cash back, international money remittances and other features is not ready yet. I would say this is very much a basic card. Like the slogan of its parent company, AirAsia; everyone can apply Tune card now! In conjunction to this official launching, Tune Money is offering 1,000 free cards, grab it before the offer is over.
Tune Money has announced earlier on about the launch of the debit card. Mark & Alex have actually put up the write up earlier on in August & September, 2007.
May 2008 Updates: Finally I applied for Tune Money card this month after heard that E-Trade (US Bank) temporary block Malaysians from ATM withdrawal. It was quite fast during the online application process, took me less than 10 minutes to register. However, they are very specific registration such as login username and password must contains letter and numbers. I see that requirement is good but is a bit troublesome. People might just forget it sometimes later, I hope I won’t forget mine sooner or later. I will walk in to Pos Malaysia to collect my card on tomorrow.

JJ: Tune card is for Malaysian Paypal account only. If you have US Paypal account, why not withdraw directly to your US bank account? All withdrawal that reach to your Malaysian account, regardless debt card balance or bank account, it is in RM currency.

withdraw to credit card Nov,11,2008 Pending $340
please help..can anyone pls explain why its Pending even since 11 nov? my experience, it should Complete after 24hours then the fund will reach into tune money card around 3/4 days.

I just go to paypal website and open a paypal account only.Are you sure US paypal cannot accept tunemoney card?
Harapa: Please contact Paypal and Tune Money for the support, I don’t have any experience using Tune Money on withdrawal. All information published here is based on the feedbacks from many people.
Tan: If you are registering from Malaysia, obviously you are using Paypal Malaysia account, and the same for US account. For Malaysia Paypal account holder, you got the choice to withdraw to US bank account or Malaysia Visa Debit card.

anyone apply etrade recently. Their new form does not seems to have a option for applying visa card.
Harapa: Good to hear that you have solved the problem.
ebayq: I don’t think you can get an US bank acct if you apply etrade now. They will re-direct your application to Singapore or HK for processing. End of the day, you are getting a Singapore or Hong Kong account. Besides that, you need to put in USD$1K as deposit.

Very informative guys. Good job keep it up. My question is the currency in my PayPal account is in USD and if I withdraw (oops!) the said amount will it automatically convert to RM when I use my tune visa card. Can someone help me. Thanks

@Shadoworacle: Yes, what ever amount you withdraw will automatically convert into RM when it’s arrive in your tune card balance. Oh yes, one more thing is your blog url no longer a valid address. Hence, I remove from here to avoid any bad SEO effects to my blog.
Thanks to every one for the info provided, which led me to apply for this card. I just collected it today, despite a delay of over 7 or 8 weeks. But it is not a big deal. I was not in a hurry.
Made my first top-up , waited a week to collect card at designated Pos but it was not there. Called CS, but they dun have payment confirmation , asked me to fax over the receipt! Aiyo – who use fax machine la nowdays?? They suggested I go to 7-11 for this service. Luckily I manage to find one and did it at my sister’s place.
Anyway – I will be registering my card later and see how things go. Shall keep you guys updated. Ciao

*UPDATE*
Managed to register my card to Paypal and it is in process of getting confirmed. Once it gets confirmed, I can proceed to doing proper business. Been having bad experience with my old Singapore Paypal account. The Singapore gahmen want to control their S$ out-flow so they cleaned-up n kicked out them people who cannot proove they are staying in Singapore anymore. I am one of them.
Anyway – I want to ask how you guys withdraw $ to your card? I use to only withdraw to my SG bank account, which was easily done with a few clicks and 3 to 4 days wait. Is it to withdraw to your VISA card account?
Hope to get some idea before I face it soon.

Hello anyone who is paying attention. This is another update. It has been over 2 weeks since getting my card and activating it. Still no sign of my PIN #. Hello TUNE PEOPLE – wake up la.
My Paypal account is up and running smoothly. Will be making a $ transfer to my prepaid card very soon. But without pin# … cannot ‘taste’ the $ wat ?!?!? Aiyoh these ppl ahhh, still on CNY holiday mood ?

I just called CS of Tune $, asking for if they got my email asking for PIN#, a guy who speaks like he had food in his mouth asked “When did u send us an email?”. Me “2 days ago” , him “you have to wait 1 week. Me “what wait a week? And the email reply will probably be ‘please wait one month’ ?” . CS then asked me for details and said he will call me back in 2 hours time. He is most likely to be having his lunch and answering phones at the same time. Tony , oh tony!

Better off using a prestige card.
I would recommend using Al Rajhi Visa Debit Card. Why no fees are billed on your side.

@Shaffir: I personally recommend Public Bank Debit card if you maintain account with them. With internet banking you can transfer from card to saving / current account without any additional charge. Anyway, it is my personal preference, just like you prefer Al Rajhi Bank.
@Arifintallib: I also not quite sure the actual steps to get it done as I did that like a few months back. I think the best way is to call up them and find out the steps. I am sure the new customer service team will be able to help you since they are well train to answer the calls.

hi all….yes i can link my tune money to my paypal acc.i must admit that its very convenient. But i got into problem when i reload via cimb counter.i make a mistake when i use my ref number to top up my card.2 days after that,i call their customer service saying that that ref no is for initial load only and after that i have to load using my card no.they say my money maybe floating inside cimb.aiseh….to claim my money back i have to fax the cimb receipt. the problem is i check their website again and again ,there is no fax no.help me pls…

Hi Koo – u will need much patience with Tune people. They seem to be slow but in the end, it works.
I’ve apply for this card, for your information, i can verified my paypal account using this tunemoney visa prepaid card. at first, paypal had deduct $1.95 from my tunecard credit, however, paypal had credited back $1.95 into my paypal account. meaning to say, i had to nothing. Only pay for tunemoney fee at RM9.99 (if i’m not mistaken).
can anyone help me on paypal account. How can we add money/credit to our paypal account? can we use tunemoney card and how?
i just received my card, apparently now there is no more option to collect at post office and they said they “haven’t” updated it in their website yet, that means the card will be sent to your house and in my situation, since the letter is registered, i have to collect it at the nearest post office since i wasn’t home.
i linked my card to paypal account, the amount was deducted but i have yet to receive the PIN in my statement, since i know it’ll take 3-4 days, i’ll wait.
it’s convenient and makes shopping online more safe, i just hope that there’ll be no problems. Good review and help!
Been using Tune card since it was approved and verified over 7 months. Withdraw from Paypal is smooth. I used my debit card to pay at supermarkets / shops locally, and overseas, no prob. My problem is there is I cannot remember the PIN issued for this card. So I keep it saved in my phone. Recently my phone was re-formatted and I lost the PIN.
So today I called CS, and with pressing few numbers, I was speaking to someone in no time. The short 2 or 3 mins call cost almost RM3, not at the usual phone rates. Anyway – I requested for a new PIN, got told a new card will be with new card #, and PIN. It will take 2 weeks. I got a bad feeling the old card will be cancelled and then I need to change my Paypal details. Oh not to forget – Tune will charge me RM20.

@ciidiiboy, tune card is not issued by bank, you may have difficulty to get support from them. I suggest you try Public Bank, Maybank or Al-Rajhi Bank.
@brianchild, the correct way to get your paypal verified is:
1) open paypal account
2) apply debit card
3) link your debit card to paypal
4) verify debit card
5) done …

By the way, hope that the verification process can be done faster. I applied on 30th Jan 2010, but i just got TuneCard on 1st Mar 2010. One month waiting… emmm…
